Huh, I can't believe it !?!? Can it be ? The K850i has a sync problem between its flash and shutter timing - that much about xenon flash. Even my N70 night shots pics are brighter :D

But that's exactly my point - why why why - when is SE going to learn? This is supposed to be the cellphone with the best camera ! No wonder they are loosing profit. Will you buy a flawed device like that? God knows when the users of this 'flagship' camera phone are going to see a FM upgrade and then they HAVE to upgrade. This is lame - very lame :(

Not exactly. At least SE make sure most users have the latest firmware. They could do better thou.

This problem was there is early firmwares of P990 as well. What I used to do was, not to release the camera button till the pic was taken. So the flash light used to lit for enough time for the phone to capture a pic. Try it with K850 and see if that works.

I have found that putting my flash on to red eye makes the pics loads better. It seems that the normal flash doesnt work. Try it and let us no.

glad its wasnt just me, this tippd my mind into gettin rid of it, amongst other things. one of the main plus points bout cybershot phones is the xenon flash, which didnt seem to work well at all on the k850i. my k810i took better night pics.
im convinced that if the k810 had the same updated software as k850i, it would be a better phone even with the 3.2mp cam.
reason i like the newer software is cos i love the tweaks theyve done with the messaging and contacts (its the same on w910i).

I am happy to see, people are commenting about this. Fanboys aside, the more 'noise' we make, the quicker SE will bother to fix it. (Hopefully) The main reason people buy this phone is the camera and in particular the flash. Not even Arne Anka and max wedge will argue otherwise. Pleeeeeeeease SE, fix this ASAP - otherwise your market share and name will go down the drain: D

No way - I will never buy this crap. Although my nice camera phone just broke because my own doing, I won't buy anything that does not work the way is advertised (or at least close to that). I am afraid i will get so irritated with it and smash it on the ground. Although the problem only shows itself at night, it will bug me. And no, there is no Firmware upgrade yet. The cell is only a few weeks on the market

SE is loosing it this days BIG time. They should get their act together -
