Has anyone out here used GPRS and MMS over the T68i here in India?
I just got a t68i for myself (shipping soon) so was just wondering...

BPL Mobile charges Rs.200 ($4 approx) per month for 100 MMS.
You can browse unlimited using WAP over GPRS in above scheme.
Service is excellent.

Oh I know about the rates and stuff but I was a little more concerned about the feasibility of the whole thing. I'm planning to get a cheap Bluetooth 1.1 compatible adapter for my PC, and I'm going to keep the T68i next to my PC and browse on GPRS. Is this something you've done?
I have a cable connection at home, I'm not looking at this GPRS solution replacing that thing in place, but just for the fun of it I want to do it at least once!
And I'll probably want to transfer photos to and from the phone via Bluetooth also....
I'm using BPL for the past five or six years .. and i have no plans of switching to any other provider! Unless Riya Sen is somehow involved in the deal.

I have a hutch connection here in delhi. I pay 100 Rs a month for the GPRS connection MMS and browsing is free.

internet browsing using cellfone as a modem sucks big time in india.
i use Hutch and apart from the GPRS (100 bucks a month) u need to shell out (500 bucks a month) for the internet charges. But it aint good either. Best is use the cellfone wap browser to see wap sites and surf the net using a better landline/broadband/cable connection

I disagree, I went to India in Jan. Feb. this year and used my Temp connection with Reliance mobile to surf the internet on my Dell laptop. Worked pretty good, about 100-115 kbps at .40 paise per minute flat charge. I thought it was pretty good eventhough here at home (in California) I have a broadband connection 1.5 Mbps.

fcourse compared to the 3 to 5 kbps that u get thru a gprs connection with hutch or airtel, the reliance is better but still 499 or 600 per month for 24/7 compared to 40 paise per minute is definitely much cheaper

incorrect. you get upto 163kpbs max speed on reliance. average its around 64kbps to 100kpbs. lowest is around 64kbps i can say. 100% guranteed i am browsing internet on reliance since last 4 months and let me tell you there service is best. yes best when it comes to internet. i used bpl mobile and orange gprs service but orange service was worst and bpl service was also bad. i used to get only somwhere around 12-16kpbs connection. some time it used to work well at 50.6kbps. so i switched to dialup and reliance.

I'm aware of the fact that Reliance is not GSM and I did not say it si GSM, All I said that I used it to browse the internet on my Laptop and I worked great. I was also aware that the cable connection shows 115 kbps. And that's what I got most of the time. Don't take it litteraly, I showed 110, 112, 90, 100 etc. at different times.
