The small arrow under your screen in standby>>connections>> Wireless LAN>>the search for a wifi hotspot>>click on the two green arrows below>>you're done.

This is how I set up mine.Created a new account
Account Name:wlan-ap
Network Name-wlan-ap
Authentication-WPA-PSK
Network Mode-Infrastructure
PRESS ARROW
Data encryption-TKIP
Passphrase-(type in the WPA shared key that is on a sticker at the bottom of your router)
I didnt change anything in the TCPIP/Proxy or Advanced options.Scan for your phone, once it picks it up,press the connect key and PRESTO,you should be all set to go(at least I was)

If its a mixed mode (b/g), then the P990 should be able to see the 'b' part.
Strange...

If you know the SSID of the network you can try manually creating an account for it.
Most likely the AP is hidden, which is configurable in the router itself. G router will still be visible in a scan you just won't be able to connect to it.

Hmmmmmmmm, sounds like you need to get into the router config. Make sure its in mixed mode and broadcasting its SSID
