Just wondering if anyone knows if the P1i can take the new 8GB M2's as I've read different things. Some say only 4GB max and others say up to 32GB when available.

Am thinking of buying one for my P1i but don't want to waste the money if the 8GB M2 isn't compatable.
Picstop have the 8GB listed for £79.90 and the 4GB for £34.90. Want to get the highest one possible.

SE says 4GB max because they only offer 4GB cards right now. I think someone in the forum has said the phones can take up to 32GB, the theoretical limit of the memory sticks

no problem.

If you search the forum, you will find photos of a P1 with an 8GB inserted.

I've personally checked this. NO problem.

I was wondering about this too. Thanks for the clarification.

Another thing i've wondered about is regarding the speed of the M2 cards. Are they all the same? It takes forever to transfer files to my M2 card thru my P1i via the file transfer mode. Is the M2->MS adapter much faster? Or is it just the M2 card that's slow?

Thanks for that. I'll be getting the 8GB one then
I've also noticed that file transfer using the pc suite is quite slow although transfer without using the pc suite is only slightly quicker.
Lucky my Vaio has a built in memory card reader

I have to say, se has some of the worst support people ive ever talked to. I had to call them over and over to get answers to simple questions, and in the end they're usually wrong. I have to get answers here

I asked if the w960 was available because on the se site the 'coming soon' star was gone (this was like 2 months ago) and so i called an se rep, who looked on the same site, and said 'yes its out, the star is gone' but he couldn't tell me how to get one. A few days later the star is back, and then they tell me its not available. . .

Then i see that there are 8gb mem chips so i call to ask if the p1 can read these 8gb chips. They say no, its max is 4gb. I asl if later firmware will allow it to read bigger chips, he says no its a hardware limitation.

I feel somewhat ashamed for giving my money to se to tell the truth. But i do like my p1, itll be nice to upgrade to a 32gb someday, and by then maybe they'll fix all the problems on it. Looking at all their previous model's complaints, tho, im growing unsure.. Was thinking of going to the w960 but if i can get 32gb then i wont.

Still, a tv out option would be nice. Theres no way to do this on the p1 is there? No adaptor and software, even with the w960 flash?
