Hello all

I recently got my phone replaced, with another P990i, since it was stopping to respond, as i mentioned earlier in various threads.

I got a new unit, and thanks God it works perfectly as it should. The problem now is, that the nasty thing is back, but only with Internet.

Meaning, if there is no Internet (that is, browsing), the phone is very stable, and RARELY hangs. I got it running to 3+ days (using Swiss Manager Free version), and it worked flawlessly. I tried using a little bit of internet browsing (wifi and 3G and Bluetooth PAN), and all three causes the phone to stop responding after a few hours from leaving it idle (the phone shows its on and running, where in reality, its not responding and frozen).

Is it another hardware problem? This problem existed in my other phone, but it was there always, with or without internet. And it got replaced by SE in Dubai. I live in Egypt and it will be very difficult now for me to send the phone back again.

Any idea whats going on?

P990 hanging??
I think that is a feature SE put in this phone...everyone has experienced it at some point of their time.
Hanging,reboots and all in a P990 are perfectly normal according to SE.

Sorry mate,can't help you there coz we own one of the most mysterious phone in this world.

The RAM is not enough to load Web Pages that's why it hangs and freezes.try using opera mini in browsing, that may solve your problem as it is not as RAM-hog as the built in one

I think i didn't describe my problem quite accurately:

The phone works well during browsing. The problem ONLY exists after leaving the phone idle for sometime, example, while sleeping at night after doing some browsing before sleep.

Install Swiss Manager Pro , version 1.60 and you can set it to clean up the memory after x minutes since the phone started idling. And you can choose how many minutes, hours,etc. I had P990i for half a year and never encountered this kind of problem.

I found out another interesting thing:

I cleared the cache and cookies of the web browser and the phone DID NOT hang until now.

A few minutes after doing some wifi browsing, the phone hanged after exactly 65 minutes from being left idle.

And yes, I use Swiss Manager, and all RAM indicators are normal, so its not a RAM deficiency.
