estimated price is about 500$ not much, but i don't like it, i don't look the design, and what about the softwear windows ce. i'll stick to my P800 when i finally have it.

i think the neonode wont have MMS and i wonder what kind of battery it has?

Swedish firm Neonode put out a press release today talking about their new N1 mobile device. It is a phone type device with a built-in camera, but with the added bonus of having a touch-screen. It is based on MS Windows CE with a proprietary program running as the main interface.

More information will be posted here as it is discovered.

Some features:

Dimensions: 88mm x 52mm x 21mm
Running Windows CE (PocketPC 2002?) with "Neoshell" running on top
176x220 touch-screen display (260k color?)
16Mb RAM, SD Slot for expansion
Built-in VGA camera
Internal speaker with audio out jack
Should include the following software: MP3 player, Video player, Web Browser, Email, Address Book, Notepad, Photo Software, and others. Presumably the standard PocketPC 2002 software with custom programs.

I have twice been told that this device supports 260k colors on the display. This would be a 18bit color display, something I have never heard of before. I have my doubts. Additionally, I have been told that it should be available in February 2003 and will cost around 5000 SEK ($500€). This is 100% unconfirmed information at this time.

If it runs on Pocket PC Phone Edition it may be OK...thats what the XDA uses.

Does it have Bluetooth though?

In my opinion this is how all mobile phones in the future should be. The keypad just wastes space in a cell-phone. it is just amazing, beautiful concept (and design I would say). My only problem is that I am not familiar with this firm so I don't if could find proper support to other countries. But apart from that it looks an amazing phone!

In an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Magnus Goertz (one of the founders of Neonode) says Neonode will be one of the third biggest mobile manufactures at year 2007.... that's five years from now... will they succeed?

He also says Neonode count on sellin around 200000 phones in Europe next year, and at christmas time next year their 3G phone will be released.

For those who can read swedish, here is the article
