Today the W910i was recalled by Orange and Sony Ericsson due to a problem when inserting a SIM card for the 1st time. The handset will lock up and will not get past booting up.
Info can be obtained by calling customer services or your local Orange shop

My mate has a sim free one and it works perfectly fine

Branding can be problematic at times, but i can honestly say i have never had a problem with a branded handset.
