I know I may not be the best person to post this. But recent posts have been quite hurtfull to other members. Most noticbley in the SAD SE portfolio.
There were members in that thread to tell the other member to leave esato, because they hated his comments.
Yea, his comments were wrong and he should of used a bit of commen sence posting like that but who the hell are you to judge wether he should be on esato. Esato is a commuinty in which every one can join. Sure we dont like his thread and its painful inacurcies, but you are in no position to start saying who should be aloud on esato. Although most of his opinions arnt right, it dosnt mean you lot to start telling him to leave esato. He may be a younger person and find some of the comments hurtfull. Comment on his opinions and stop telling him to leave. Why dont you leave if you feal that strongly about it? And Doggman, correct people and argue with them with out these anoying little insults. Lets argue and debate like civilized people not like little kids in the playground
I know I have been at fault like this by saying diffrent things, but im gonna try to leave insults out in the future. All im saying is, is to leave out your insults aswell. Doggman I know you like correcting people but what is the gain of posting little insults? It just gets people angry and gives you a bad name. As with the other people who posted in that thread and other threads

I second this.
For this reason I apologize to all I've posted insults. It will never happen again. I hope they are not many having 30 posts so far =).

@kingbooker:
nice proposal here, mate!
here's my 2-cents:
i think the following could might as well be considered:
Objectivity ---
its looking at the pros and cons of the argument (or any debatable issue) and when you have eventually decided which side you're on, then try to defend that position with all your might (pun intended!) but without actually forgetting that the other person will also try to do that in return. the point is for the antagonists to recognize the merits of rebuttals made and the discussion should proceed from thereon.
Civility ---
this stems from one's being objective. if you're objective enough, then chances are you will also be civil in your discussions (read: no annoying insults are added).
Openness ---
this could also be objectivity in disguise. i tried to include this since a lot of observed heated discussion seem to end in insults or "leave Esato, you a**hole," etc. because the antagonists could not seem to have open-minds to recognize the merits of the other person's arguments.
if you would notice, the above are all inter-related and could mean the same and only one thing. just wanted to be quite detailed in what i wanted to say
finally, let us all try our best to keep OUR forum FREE of such negatives! we are here because we all share something in common. and i think some of us are forgetting that --- the very reason why Esato exists in the first place.
peace and cheers to everyone!

I've been wishing people would do this for ages but to no avail!
It annoys me when a thread debating another manufactuer's product or a comparison thread turns into yet another SE Vs Nokia flame war

@sammy_boy:
just like you mate, how i wish too that any debate in Esato would not end up as another of those endless Nokia-vs-SE or SE-vs-Nokia fan wars and other what-have-you.
but debates and arguments are healthy if you look at it as indeed, debates and arguments. the trouble is, people get too personal most of the time.
i, for one, would like to "argue"

the exercise alone exposes me to viewpoints i may have never known had i not involve myself in such. along the way, my experience and knowledge gets broadened and they enrich me in the end... but of course, one has to know the limits to how far one should go in any "argument". i guess we are all civil and decent enough when to yield, accept, rebutt and most importantly, to stop and cheer every debater for a wonderful "discussion".
peace everyone

cheers!

Easy solution: Before you log into Esato check your ego at the front desk.

Well GSMArena has lots of irradical Nokia/SE fanboys infesting the site's threads. that's why i rarely visit those threads as only few now are intelligent enough to think radical. i missed @Doul and Tarantula anyway

the two are the most helpful and best debater member of that site
back to topic, well it's better to avoid those irradical fanwars instead of joining them. but sometimes it's hard to avoid things that you've used to do before

I follow a very easy rule of thumb. Its in my Sig.(Look at it)
When things get too heated, just take a step back and stop posting, no need to get the last say. Let that person be, let them think they are right... no need to fight till death, what do you get in the end?

What I've noticed recently is people creating threads about phone issues, but not because they actually own the phone and are looking for a solution, but just because they fancy a good sneer at SE users.
