hello, here in peru no operator (carrier) sells the p1i and i think i will take a long time (a year maybe) . i own a p990i with the annoying freezing problem (freezes everyday so I have to take out the battery or press power for 10 secs) and today went to the "indy" sellers and they sell the p1i for about 600 - 650 usd but the deal is: my p990 plus 200 usd and they give a brand new unlocked full p1i. a te the sonyericsson e-shop it costs 599 usd.
Do you think its worthy? its a good deal?
Thanks.

P1i is nothing more than a upgraded design. you will not see a beneficial difference in usng the p990i and p1i. save the money. donate it to your local charity. spend it on your family. wait for the next generation. Peru is a 3rd world country, you get the point.

SURE! Go for it for that price & don't hesitate for a second. I sold my P990 for 220$ & I got the P1i for 600$ & for me it was a gr8 deal... It's worth the upgrade. U'll notice the difference from the 1st second. It's worth every penny.

@sidney - NOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! That's a KILL in daylight-saving-time matey . . . just UPGRADE your firmware with the latest version and your FREEZING-problem will be solved. You can buy a decent-stand-by celfone with the US$ 200.00 matey . . . Think again !

I also think it's a good deal. I did just that. Sold my P990 with 220 euros and added 150 to buy the P1. The losses were quite big but it was worth it. The P1 is not just an upgrade but a different phone. The memory does all the difference.

Really what tower of ivory do you live in? What land of milk and honey has been o so blessed as to have you within its folds? Ive heard of people needing to think before they speak but if you need to think before you type you shouldnt be near a computer!!!!

Im trying to fiqure out why they would make that deal in the first place.But they did so leave it at that.Mmmm,I have a P990i and it serves me well.Yours on the other hand sounds quite problematic.But like someone else said a firmware update should lesson your woes.Thìs is my take on the situation.I would keep the P990i(only saying that cause I still love mine) and with the extra USD200 get yourself a 4-8GB memory card,a 3.5mm adaptor and a good set of headphones.Throw in a licenced 'Core Player' for UIQ3 and I personally would be pretty chuffed

Yes the P990i RAM is low but used sensibly its never troubled me.Having 76.3mb free RAM after booting must be awesome but not enough for me to make a fat loss considering my phone has run smoothly from day one.And I jvst love the build of the P990i.The choice is ultimately yours.Dont rush it if you dont have to.Do some homework and see what else rears it pretty face.Good luck mate
