not even getting the chance to select phone mode, when i inset usb, this is my second k850i, is it my computer, or a fault with the phone, nothing happems when i insert my cable to the phone,,,
any help appreciated

2- (havent got another computer, but my daughters se k800i works no bother, when she inserts it in, it comes up straight away)

then the problem seems to be your phone. isnt there any dust in the fastport or anything that could interfere the connection between the pins and the fastport connector?

Yet another problem with K850's... This is not gonna look good for SE...
I suggest you take it back and ask for a K800i + monetary compensation instead. K800's are stable and pretty much bug free at least, minus the 5mp camera, but 3.2mp is good enough
