Bit of a random post but very true!
I've got a pair of CX300 earbuds and larger conventional-style HD457s, and they indeed have excellent sound quality.
They're not too expensive either - the CX300s were £10 off Ebay and the HD457s about £20 again off Fleabay. Just beware of fake CX300s on Ebay, there are quite a few floating around, read the guides people have written on Ebay to learn how to avoid the counterfeits.
These are much better than say, the iPod earbuds, the bass on both sets are impressive (maybe a tad too impressive at times on the CX300s!)

Yeah but only certain models are awesome.For portable audio,the PX100 are the best.

Yeah! I love my PX 100
Together with the Sony D-EJ100 it makes my CDs come alive. (I don't listen to compressed music if i can help it.)

Yeah,me too.I'm waiting for the day when we'll see FLAC/APE support in high-end music phones.(maybe that day is Friday?Then we will probably see N91's successor
)
PX100 have some great and deep bass and mid/high detail for this class of headphones.I think they're the best ones for portable players.Second place for Koss Portapro,and third - Grado iGrado.
I'm not in IEMs,you know.
Maybe someday...

Yes, the PX100 is from sennheiser. It's not very fair to compare the PX100 to the CX300 as the former are headphones while the latter are in-ear earphones. I have not tried the PX100, but having tried the CX300, I think they're the best in-ear earphones for me.
