I'm wondering if anyone has slected the wrong phone on the Sony Ericsson Update Service?
What I'm wondering is, I have a K800i, if I was to select the K810i would SEUS install the K810i firmware to my K800i?

no. the phone you select seems to have little importance as the phone type is detected when you actually connect it

I have yet to understand why we have to select the phone... my only thought is that perhaps it makes the identification quicker when you do connect the phone as it knows roughly what model to expect... but thats just a guess

No , SEUS see IMEI number and when you select other phone say is wrong.
When choose model K800 SEUS again return K800 normal software.
Only change on IMEI with any K810 IMEI number can help , but change IMEI is illegal.
