T-Mobile has clashed with Phones 4u following the discovery of 'prepared disconnection letters'.

It is alleged that certain Phones 4u stores were active in steering large numbers of customers out of T-Mobile contracts at the earliest opportunity. Investigations revealed several rogue stores sent T-Mobile pre-generated letters on behalf of customers.

A T-Mobile spokeswoman confirmed: 'I can confirm there is truth in that. But T-Mobile is confident that an end has been put to it.'

Sources claimed managers would call customers five weeks before the contract ended and offer to pay the last month's line rental for the customer if they signed a new contract. Managers would then send the letter requesting disconnection on behalf of the customer to T-Mobile.

Phones 4u was not available for comment.

Hi all

Well nothing really surprises me about Phones4U any longer except maybe they should change their name to Phones4U/money for us. It's a bit like all the cold calls you get from company's near the end of contract when they say we have been asked by the Network to offer you an upgrade yeah right that's really going to happen isn't it.

Marc

they seem to want to push everyone onto a '3' contract.

my mate got a K810i from them on Vodafone, but we was in there 1hr30min because they were trying to make him go onto 3.

there was nothing like that at CPW when i got my W810i from them, said i wanted it on o2 and it was done in an instant.

I could have told you they did this a year ago...

they push you onto whoever is paying the most at the moment in time....

but you can be rest assured it will be a new connection everytime!

they will however, port your number over to virgin for you and then back to your new network therefore retaining your old number.......

strange, when my mum went to get a contract they rang up to end her contract on behalf of her....

and also they kept pushig her to take out insurance with them and then a week later someone rang up saying they were from the insurance saying they were changing policies and that she needed to pay £80 per year to be insured with them...so she did and then found out that the phones 4 u insurance was still up and running.....however the company who rang her up is actually a legit insurance company :s

I'm almost 'scared' to set foot in a Phones4U store now, nothing surprises me.
