o, you can't use the tomtom install for windows mobile on the p990

you will have to buy tomtom again as the licence is only for one device

You can buy a copy of TomTom from http://www.TomTom.com or from one of your local retailers.

I think they do allow you to move to another device after 6 months. At least that's what I read. How stupid would that be - to be locked to one phone cos of a 3rd party software, that's just ridiculous. If they don't let me get another phone, I'm not buying the software. They're obligated to do this for you, IMO.

I've been right through their support and all I can find on this topic is this

Question:
Can I buy one licence for multiple devices?

Answer:
No, every device needs to be activated with its own unique activation code and therefore you need a licence for every device.

Their licence states:
GRANT OF LICENSE: This TomTom License Agreement ("License") permits you to use the TomTom computer program and the digital (map) data included in the accompanying package acquired with this License on any single computer, provided the Software is installed on only one computer at any time and provided the Software is combined only with one (1) navigation system. This License is non-exclusive and non-transferable. This License does not imply any rights to future upgrades or updates of the Software. The use of any upgrades or updates of the Software is governed by this License and may be subject to additional payments.

http://www.tomtom.com/support[....]4&query=change+device&FID=7485

(or type the following question under support: How do I associate my new TomTom device through HOME?)

Please see if that takes you to the link I'm thinking about and let me know if that is what viv911 is looking for, and if masseur is referring to this same issue. I maybe talking about the wrong thing, but at least that's the way I understand it.

When you create a new Tomtom Home account with your new device, after 6 months, they will issue a new device code so you can install on another device if you want, at which point, I'm guessing the previous licence will be cancelled or whatever... But you will apparently have to contact tech support to set this up.
