My k850i is on orange, but I can access my O2 pop3 using the following
(if this helps !)
email, accounts, edit, pop3,
server is mail.o2.co.uk, username is your FULL O2 email address, password is
.... (your logon password),no excryption and port 110.
email, accounts, edit, smtp,
server is smtp.o2.co.uk, authentication is "same as pop3", encryption none
and port 25.
Obviously you'll need a GPRS of internet connection set up as well.

Is it possible to set up your ntlworld or hotmail email adresses on your K850i? I tried to set the ntlworld one up with the auto settings detection and when i attempted to send an email i got a could not connect to server message about 10 minutes later...

I dont know what ntlworld is but I do know that hotmail is not supported. When you used the automatic setup, what message did you get? If you got a message saying something like that the email provider was not supported you must manually enter all the settings.

currently it'll only do pop3 or imap4. the ntlworld one may be similar
to O2 in that your username needs to be the full email address, not just
the user id bit, e.g. therevokid as a user id, but as far as O2 pop3 access
the username must be
threvokid@o2.co.uk !

I have not had any experince with SE but in my country its so simple. You just sms mmms or email to 6565 and the seetings are sent to you. Ive also seen something lile *123# but I saw it on motorola. It opens some configuration rettings, maybe they can work for you as well. However they appeared on an MTN page

@tursut
I got a message saying it found the settings for ntlworld account. Ntlworld is now Virgin Media but my email is still @ntlworld.com at the moment. It uses pop3. Well, it said it found the settings but when I tried to send an email it stayed in the outbox for a while, then i got a could not connect to server message.

Hmm ok, do you use SSL or TLS for the SMTP settings? Check in your account settings and if you use SSL/TLS you probably need to download the certificate for your server.
