Hi there i bought a sony ericsson w880i from the carephone wareshouse here in the uk 3 weeks ago it came unlocked and unbranded. Today i've bought a three pay as you go sim card but am having problems using the internet properly and everytime i try to download windows live messenger it say's operation failed i rang three up htey sent me my internet and mms settings but it still won't download does anyone no what the problem is or does anyone no if i can actually brand my phone to the three network settings? please try and help me thanks.

well, being honest i think that the windows live mobile you're trying to download is corrupted or the service to download it is not available. have you tried downloading another apps/games?

i am also on 3, u have to be tricky to acceess 3zone etc, cos 3 uses a special fw for that. but if u make the right settings, u should be able, cos w880 is sold by 3 aswell. u should go in a 3 stors and make the settings manually, just ask for a w880 ( 3 branded ) and "copy" the settings. thats what i usually do

Hi . Your phone being unbranded does not have the 3 java certificate which is checked against the download. Have a look in the 3g section of the forums for my post for a possible solution. The certificate will affect box java downloads like games you buy etc . However other services will work fine such as watchmi videos etc . Cheers.
