I've had my m600i for around 10 months, and i typically get 4 to 5 days out of the battery. I have 3G turned off. Each day i use 10 - 20 mins on calls, the same on the web, and i sync with exchange every hour.

On mon i thought i'd try enabling 3G. My phone lasted just 2 days for a moderately improved browsing experience. What a bunch of ass. 3G is now off again.

I get the same thing with my p1, its coz the 3g signal round my way is just rubbish. My poor p1 tries to hold a 3g signal but just end up on 1 bar and no battery

Both 3G, and a larger memorystick eat up more battery.

It is simply a physical fact that a TDMA network (such as GSM) saves power in the devices, since the radio can be shut down completely most of the time. UMTS is based on CDMA, which needs the radio to be on at all times.

3G does NOT only DRAIN your battery . . . fast ! In some fone models (like those of: K600/K608i), it also makes it - HOT (to touch) after video-calling for say, 30 minutes or more

Always turn off 3G when not in use - that's the lesson
