I've had my P1i for about two months now. So far I have had a fairly unstable experience with the fone.

It has never been on for longer than a week, because it will often crash or restart itself within that time.

Sometimes it just shuts off, and you need to remove the battery to turn it back on. Other times it just restarts itself, but then doesnt know how to dim the backlight and the battery will drain until you manually restart it again. I once missed my alarms because the phone had crashed.

Quite annoyed that this great phone functionality is let down by so much instability. Hard to be happy with the phone if you are always checking its still working...

I've had two crashes since upgrading to the f41 firmware, so its pretty darn good. I've seen the backlight issue too - although it seemed to me that it was opera mini that caused it.

But, since a re-install of my third party apps its been as solid as a rock. Transitions stopped working but I can't be bothered to reset to get em back.

No problems @ all & a smartphone should be restarted once in 2-3 days...

My P1i is pretty stable so far. At 10 days uptime right now, 11 before that. Had to restart it when I upgraded to the latest firmware.
It restarted once when I was running Opera, but otherwise it's been stable so far.

Where was your phone bought?
My thai phone had a few instability issues with the previous firmware. After changing it to generic world, the stability increased a lot. On the thai firmware, I had the exact same problems as you.

Also make sure you have the latest firmware. That helps quite a bit.

I had the phone as soon as it came out. In the beginning i had a few probs with the radio when i received calls, but after the software update no probs at all. I rarely turn off my phone.

It's all up to how you use it. In the beginning i had to restart it almost once a day but then i was a really heavy user and installed many apps, nowadays i restart it once a week. It's really stable but if i don't restart it once a week i do have some crashes. My old P900 where much more instable.
