Sony ericsson installed an application on my P1i (this is an unregistered app) and I want to extract it for later use. If I do a firmware update on my phone, it'll erase this app. and SE says I will have to go to them again to install it

Is there any way to extract the SIS file from the phone? Note this is a free app with no key so that's not an issue.

cheers

If you installed the application on the M2, the SIS is in the \\Private\\ folder.

Thanks for the reply. It was installed by Sony Ericsson. After firmware update, I need to go to them to get it reinstalled as they refuse to give me the installer. It's installed in the phone memory. Thx.

Anybody has a solution?

I repeat:
It must be in the Private folder of the M2.
Have you browsed the files in there?

You cannot just copy the folder back, i think. Symbian 9 security prevent you from copy n paste programs directly from your pc or file manager. The best way is get the .sis file or create one using a tool and then signed it. I tried copy n paste before and it won't work.

I'm sorry it was installed in the phone memory.
The MemoryStick is accessible by the file transfer mode, which have full access to all paths.

You can use X-Plore to access system folders on the phone memory.
