Is anybody using Bluetooth to sync the P1i to PC (WindowsXP_SP2 + Outlook 2003, MS BT Drivers, newest PCSuite for Smartphones).
I have found that its a complete mess. It simply does not work correctly.
I'm able to pair and connect PCSuite to P1i, but at the next reboot of the PC the phone is not recongnized again.
Either M-router does not find the BT dongle as usable device (for instance if I connect the dongle after booting up the PC) or the BT dongle is found by M-router and the phone is seen by M-router also, but the connection cannot be established to the P1i.
I also tried playing with the energy save mode of BT on P1i or the visibility, different behaviour every time. No pattern to be seen in what circumstances BT connects to P1i or not. Sometimes it does but most of the time m-router does not find the device.
This makes to use BT as sync medium impossible, because you don't have the time to play 30 minutes each time you want to sync your phone to your PC.
Ideal situation would be following: You boot up your laptop in the morning. You realize that you haven't connected your BT dongle, so you connect it, than m-router connects to P1i and PcSuite sees that, auto sync starts and continously syncs in every 2 hours for exmaple.
Now this isn't working at all, it's a real pain to have BT session starting up with PcSuite.
I guess the problem comes from PCSuite. It's not programmed correctly. Too many variables like m-router connection, all those settings with the ports, etc.
Nokia this this much much better. It works every time, all the time like I described above.
Same thing existed with my M600i. I tryied numerous BT dongles and software as well (MS, Widcomm, Bluesoleil)... same issue.

Anyone havig success with this kind of outlook sync over BT ? Would like to discuss details with that person

05-04/08 UPDATE

With the newest release of PC Suite application (1.4.4) the above things seem to work! I'm able to use the BT sync as it should work! Just make sure that you disable Bluetooth energy saving option, because if that is turned on, and you leave coverage area, when you come back, the phone does not connect back again to the PC.
This is obvious for the phone, but still a bug in PC Suite. The phone goes to low-power BT mode that means that it will not try to communicate through BT unless it is contacted by some other device. It will also not try to maintain a connection, this should be the task of the other party. When you come back to the coverage area, the phone will not make any attempt to reconnect. This would be for the PC Suite, but for some reason it does not query the phone from time to time, othervise the phone would wake up and answer.

In my oppinion, this is still a problem of SE PC Suite application design.

But ok, the power saver mode does not bring too much at all with regards to power saving, so I simply don't use it, and BT syncs nicely like this with the new PC Suite. At least some improvement on this side SE.
