> Deleting Protected Preinstalled Music/Ringtone

Is it possible to delete the protected preinstalled music/ringtones that ship with the Sony Ericsson handsets? There are two particular files I cannot delete. When I attempt to remove them from the File manger I get the message "Cannot be deleted, protected file." This is a huge annoyance since they show up in my music playlist and will interrupt my music listening sessions. SO ANNOYING! Any insight is appreciated!

hi there!
i'm not familiar with the procedures but the protected SE files can be deleted through FAR and other flashing software. try to browse under Technical and i'm sure you will find the necessary things that you need.

@dark:
i tried that before and it didn't work for me (W810i)... the same files will still be there even after a master reset. i guess that's why its protected.
just my 2-cents:
come to think of it, its SE who pre-installed them in the phone and the master reset is also SE's, right?
cheers!

guys
try using XS++ 3.0 which can access the file system for all the new CID52 phones ... I think k800 and k810 have CID 52 .... so u can use it .....
Please do check the CIDS ... though ....
Those annoying files which are protected are in the files path
/tpa/user
go to that folder using XS ++ and delete them ....
When u restart ur phone they will be gone .....
I succeeded in deleting them in my k550i
