strange, had k800i and everything was fine, connect usb cable and open phone explorer everything worked,

when i connect anything usually the computer recognizes it and tries to find hardware, or whatever,

when i connect this phone nothing happens at all, thought it was problem with phone, took it back to vodafone and they tried it on there computer and it came up straight away, it worked 1st time, 5 times she tried it and it worked every time, it came up with the menu on phone and her computer says phone found or something like that,

iv tried for 1 week now to resolve this problem but nothing works,

please help, if need any more information please just ask, i will do anything to resolve this problem, the usb port works fine cause my daughters k800i still works fine when i insert usb cable

im using windows xp, is this a hardware problem

I have had 2 K850i and use xp and they have worked flawlessly, infact I use my K850i as a 3g modem when im out using my internet bundle, never let me down yet.

I have also a w300i, K800 and K810 and these also work with out any problems.

The K850i also works on my works computer too.

** One thing i dont use is any SE software **

Never have to, The K series are seen as a normal usb device so i can view them as external hard drives and i use some other software to edit contacts and send sms on.

I think you may have a problem with the software on your machine.

When you connect the phone to the machine does anything happen at all?

Ok its going on the machine then.

The fault is with the xp software, there is a feature OHCI controller that suspends it self. It goes to sleep and sometimes will not wake up with certain devices or its stubbon to wake up

Here is the link for the Microsoft USB Device problem i think you are having.

Hope this helps.
