Hi all!

I was clumsy and lost my phone on the floor with the result that the lower right part of the touchscreen doesn't work. In fact when I try to press "go-back"-button I have to press to the right of it to get it to work. When I try to press the scan-button i wi-fi (for instance) I can't make it happen.

I've tried to restart, format internal disk and finally flash it agian with latest firmware with no result. My phone is crippled. I can't use e-mail functions nor can I use wifi. That's what I have found so far.

Anyone have experienced somthing like this or have any tips for me. I have an insurance but still. I need som help.

Thanks

Osmano

I think there isn't much you can do about it, its gonna have to be a repair job. Have you tried re-calibrating the screen?

Its most likely that, rather unluckily, the fall has managed to separate the touch layer from the LCD at the top. I guess you are lucky that you didn't shatter the LCD too.

Sorry, don't think that there is much you can do about it yourself.

The best i could come up with was this :-

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/ds/trouble_clean.jsp

Let us know if this works!

Thank you for taking an interest in this matter. Yes I have tried to recalibrate but since the touchscreen is out of order I'm not capable to do so. I'm going to go to the place where i bought it tomorrow and ask for their advice.

Interesting article with the DS, but I'm afraid it's not the problem with my phone.

I will keep you up to date what's happening. The worst thing that can happen is that I have to buy me a new phone. (P1, E90?)

Thanks again

Go for the p1, never out of ram, better camera, faster, smaller, no restarts. I had p990 and now i own a p1, can't be happier.

What about the Nokia monster (E90)? Always been drawn to that sort of phone. Sorry to get of topic.....Well I made it.....I was going to wait for the next SE smart phone (P3?) but when this happend I have to reconsider. My poor P990 suddenly is a "normal" phone. That's just not good enough.

Cheers!

Hi all!

Like I said I went to the shop were I bought it and when he heard that I had insurance he said that I should contact the insurancecompany and get a refund. He didn't think that there was any point to do anything else. So tonight I'm gonna do that and hopefully get a refund and the buy me a new phone.

Thanks for sharing opinions with me.

Cheers

Update.

I've just been collecting my P990! They replaced the screen so now everythings alright. In the meantime I had a fantasy affair with the Tytn II. Well....I don't have an excuse for bying it any more so I'll wait till next summer to what's out there on the market.

Case closed......
