Searched high and low on this forum and elsewhere on the Net but no luck so far...

I;ve had a P990i for a few weeks now and eveyrthing worked fine including synchronising calendar and contacts with Lotus Notes - in fact everything worked out the box ...

However since flashing new firmware three days ago the sync no longer works.

It says synchronsiation initiated then just stops with the error

Error : 1 General
Error due to : Synchronisation could not be started

I've tried everything I can think of....
- reinstalled PC Suite 1.3.22
- amended the sync setting so it uses local server rather than default
- disabled virus software
- disabled firewall

Basically the only thing that changed was the firmware flash....

anyone got any ideas where I should go now ....

Done further investigation on this and looks like it may not be related to Lotus Notes at all.

I've changed setting to the PC Suite so it only syncs Bookmarks (i.e. going nowhere near Lotus NOtes) adn I get the same error message that "Synchronisation could not be started"...

For completeness other functions within PC Suite seem to work no problem (Backup/Restore, File Manager)......

thanks in advance for any advice....

Still struggling here .... have now done all the following.
1. Uninstalled PC Suite
2. UNinstalled all SE software from PC - SEUS,
3. Uninstalled all Se related stuff from phone - SEMC Syncstation driver, Symbian 9 drivers -
4. removed all SE references form registry
5. removed all SE and related directories from PC (eg Teleca)
6. Reinstalled PC suite
7. reconnected phone using USB cable

Still no joy. All other PC Suite stuff works fine - Backup no problem, File manager no problem....

What I have noticed though is this.
When I tried to just sync Bookmarks it gave me the same "Synchronisation could not be started " message.
So I tried syncing Lotus Notes contacts next, BUT didnt put in my Notes database password. This gave me a "User not authorised message" - then when I specified the password in the options gave me the "Synchronisation could not be started " message. So its doing PC related stuff (i.e. accessing Lotus notes) but then seeming to struggle on the link to the phone.

So - still looking for help .....
Next thought was a to do Master Reset of the phone - but I bought this phone used and the phone lock code needed to do a reset isnt the default 0000 .... whats the procedure for getting it reset ....
