Whats the P1 like for watching movie's on?
I finally ordered one and should get it on Tue/Wed.
Ideally I just want to load it up with unconverted .avi's or .mpg's and watch them, is this possible?

You could watch wmv, and if you download Divx player for p1 you could also watc Avi files. But in my case after few minutes it starts slowing down the reproduction and blocks, I think that processor is not capable for such task.

To see unconverted films is possible, but the smoothness depends on the resolution and bitrate.
I recommend Core Player as it supports many formats the default player doesn't.
I've been using it for watching TED conferences in MP4 format, and is barely watchable. The sound is smooth, but the 208mhz processor frequently can't handle high bitrates. The result is some screen freezing in some scenes, although the sound continues on.
Resume:
If you want a pleasant movie experience, I recommend you convert the movies before watching.

By far for me M3 has been thee best converter. it compresses my movies down to a good size and gives me smooth dvd like quality. I love watching movies on my P1i. I have a 4gb card and am anxiously waiting for the 8gb ones...

Using Total Video Converter to convert vids to MP4 for playback with the built-in video player. Works great! Quality is pretty impressive.
