Hi all,

I recently came across a deal at dial-a-phone for an LG Viewty on an O2 contract, which I'm really interested in - however, I still wish to keep my current number (which is on O2 Pay as You Go). According to the O2 website it is possible, however the dial-a-phone website says that it is not "possible to port your number on the same Network".

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks

It's possible when you do it through O2, and dial-a-phone isn't through O2, it's through their own dirty filthy dodgy service.

I'm currently in the process of going the other way - O2 contract to O2
PAYG - O2 are fine with this, just talk to them instead

Try and ask 02 online over the phone for that same deal you never know they might let you have it as there Motive

Yes of course you can transfer your number on same network from pre pay to contract. After all its probably easier for them with your number staying on same network. I did it with Orange years ago. God whoever did tell you that you cant.

You can't UNLESS your doing it through the provider themselves.

Dial-a-phone, Phone 4 U and occasionally CPW, although I think they've cut back now, use their own billing systems and virtual versions of 'O2' so the only similarity is the covereage and the name, thats it.

Your actual 'network' would be with Dial-a-phone et al.

Hence why the only people that can move you from P&G to Pay Monthly is through the network themselves.

Bit like fake Nike trainers or something, you get what you pay for, and I'd rather pay for quality.

Thanks for the replies - it's much appreciated

However, as good as the deal may be, after reading some reviews about dial-a-phone, I'm not so confident anymore

Lol, I suppose so, but they aren't offering great deals at the moment. Best I found was Mobiles2YourDoor - which is part of Phones4u. £30 for 12 months. Free phone too
