Hi everybody,
After reading 3 or 4 spanish forums, I still havenīt come to the conclusion of best camdriver for my phone. Let me explain a little.
Here in Spain, I bought a K750i cid49 brown (the crap beta certificate). Obviously, as you know, this brown cid, together with its beta fw and 5.3 version camera, caused the phone to take absolutely crap pictures in almost any kind of light conditions.
Ok, i took it to Sony and they flashed cid from brown to red. Then, using Setool2Lite, I flashed it to W800i R1BC002. From then on, i have tried possibly every known camdriver and the quality hardly differs. Kriomagīs 21.3, 21.7, 21.8 and 21.9 take bluish pictures in low light conditions and so do Kopritis and Sarmadīs, which are full of noise at low light. The ONLY driver (and current one i have) which comes close to taking ok pictures is the Chengrong 8.53. In sunlight, landscape pictures are superb but in low light conditions, Night Mode overexposes pic and most come out blurry. Even in good light conditions, when u take a pic in the shade, you can tell a bit of noise on dark objects.

So, I donīt know if in other countries, you have experienced this with CID49 Brown. Even if Iīve flashed to Red and then to W800i FW, is my phone condemned to sh*t picture quality forever because of having bought it cid49 Brown?? I need answers from people who bought a CID49 Brown, have flashed to a better FW version and have installed and tried good camdrivers. I read that the CID49īs CMOS module is worse than CID36īs but iīm sure that some camdriver can correct this...!!

Thanks, all answers appreciated.

hi

you know that CID36 phones' camera module is different from the CID49 phones' camera module. hence the quality in the CID49 phones is worst against the CID36 phones. why? its camera module, CID49 is cheaper and worst.

see here: CID49 camera against CID36 camera - what Differences?

dont you mind swapping cam modules?

There are just two solutions:
1) Find a new CID36 K750i (and if you find one, just inform me too).
2) Look on Ebay for K750i cam modules. Most offered modules are CID36( but to be sure: send an image of the CID36 module to the seller ).
The change is not hard, but you need some patience when putting everything back into the case.

And after all Raiderīs camdriver 6.6 + configtool ist best for my K750i CID49 with CID36 cam-module...

Yeah, itīs much as I imagined...
Since i bought my phone 1 year ago, iīve been comparing loads of pics with my friendīs CID36 and there is a significant difference in quality.
So then, everyone who has a K750/W800 CID49 are totally satisfied with the pic quality?? Or is it that they just havenīt compared it to the CID36? Or they have pretty low standards to pic quality? I donīt know, i reckon more people with CID49 phones who like photography would complain a bit more but iīve read hundreds of threads talking about different camdrivers and people with CID49 phones saying theyīre really satisfied with Kopritis, Sarmad, Chengrong and what have you.
All in all, the CID36 cam module to be fitted in the CID49 is a very interesting option. Iīm going to search that on eBay but iīd need somebody very skilled to swap it coz i simply donīt dare do it without busting the phone up.
By the way, if you fix a CID36 cam module on a CID49 phone, does it need reflashing or reinstalling camdriver or would it finally just take decent pics being the good module?
Cheers

Yep, after much reading on this website, it seems like CID49 got a cheaper and worse cam module. I find that absolutely incredible, i canīt believe Sony did that just to up the sales on K800... I still canīt believe I spent 229 €uros on this freakin phone... Iīm even thinking of selling it and trying to find a CID36 or even getting a K800 or W810 with some operator deal.

Searched CID36 camera module on eBay and got 0 results. Are u sure those modules are being sold on eBay? Any links?
Thanks

Dont worry: here comes help:
Try to search on ebay.de (germany) for k750* kamera* ...
You will find some power-sellers like:

http://tinyurl.com/2gwwul
or
http://tinyurl.com/36swez

I bought two modules from "numan International" via ebay and I am very satisfied... Just copy item number 280109501700 into your local ebay...

Here you find a very good how-to: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=870

1) open your phone 2)change cam module 3)have fun, 4) send an email to Sony that bad cam modules suck!!!

Bloody hell Randolph, thanks a lot!
Iīll search īem on eBay as soon as i get home (eBay is restricted at work). The only thing is... wow, taking it apart, the link you provide is quite explicit but there are just so many bits and bobs on the phone that i first better find someone with more expertise to do it.

Thanks very much!

Thanks Randolph, i finally found the articles u mention on eBay. About 18 €, not bad... The only think i need now is somebody in Madrid who knows how to dismantle a K750, haha. Iīll ask around in the spanish forum but anyhow, if thereīs anyone here from Madrid who knows how to do it, it will be very much appreciated...

By the way, if itīs pretty clear that the CID49īs camera module is worse than the CID36īs, i just donīt understand why people keep opening threads announcing "so and such new cam driver for CID49" or "new tunned cam driver for CID49" if itīs pretty obvious by different sources of info on this site that the CID49 cam module is crap and no camdriver will help it obtain the pics that CiD36 obtains...

Cheers

You will also notice with the CID 36 camera you can have the full 4 x zoom in the largest picture setting.
