..It's not so ridiculous as it sounds, if we're talking about well seeded files and few downloads at a time. But it would probably be unlikely that people would (be able to) keep the connection open for longer periods of time to reach their seed- targets, so it would inherently be a leecher- client. So.. not really a good idea, I guess.
..Probably, the best solution might be a remote of some kind (like
this. With the option to add downloads on your home- computer through the mobile remote app. (At least.. until we get dry- cells and standby time for the phone closer to a couple of weeks.)

Totally possible since the protocol would support it, but it wou;ld be much easier to set up a web UI on your desktop and control it with your P1i. You'd get better speeds and better reliability

i do that... complex way.
got my pc at home turned on and connected to the net.
using utorrent as download client.
with utorrent you can setup a web-based server for the client.
that allows you to acces (through web) your client everywhere.
this saves banthwith with your mobile, and all files will be stored at your pc.
hope this helps

Who needs that anyway? Don't you have a PC?
I doubt there are many users using the WM version. Running a torrent client must be a battery killer.

Well yeah but there are advantages for sure...
Yep PC we all have, but I wouldn't want to leave the Notebook on all the time just so I can dl it via the phone - thats pointless, I might as well just dl it from the Notebook then
I still think I can find a good use of it

There is one for S60 phones, called WizBit if I remember correctly. I'm not aware of one for our UIQ phones anyway.

You can use EMule and MobileMule for remote controlling on your phone.
