Hi,

I've just upgraded my W850i with a 4GB Memory Stick Pro and there didn't seem to be any problems at first. However, when I attempted to install Opera v3.0 I was told my memory was full.

I deleted all unwanted files, text messages included but got the same message. I have 14MB phone memory and 3652MB stick memory at my disposal.

I'm assuming the W850i can't comprehend the large Memory Stick Pro size and messes it up a bit...Am I right?

it doesn't really matter when but to stop this getting away from the real issue... it was in October 2006 when I bought a white one in Singapore on one of my regular trips back to Australia

I can also say that I have NEVER formatted a memory stick, nor do I suggest it because I see so many more issues discussed on here from people incorrectly formatting memory sticks

but I guess if there is no other choice...

have you tried connecting the phone with the card inserted to a pc in transfer mode, or putting the card in a card reader, and performing error checking?

edit: @tranced, the W850 was only announced on 18-may-2006

I think that's going to have to be my next purchase, a memory card reader for the PC so I can have a bash at formatting it. I'll let you know how I get on.

Have a Sandisk 4GB in my W850i. no problems. had for about a year now or so guess. You can format the MS from the phone itself and is probably recommended as opposed to formatting from a PC. (The Phone format will put some files etc on the stick.)

You can format it my going to the file manager, then memory status, select the MS and more, you should find an option for Format MS.

Cheers,
