I'm having a hard time choosing between the K850i and the K810i. From looking at the specs I know that the K850i is the best phone, but what do you guys think?

The K850i takes som great pictures, but so does the K810i, especially with one of the custom cam drivers.

I like the design of the K850i - but prefer the buttons on K810i.

Is the K850i worth the extra money compared to the K810i?

had the k810, got the k850 .... get the K810 and enjoy trouble free
ownership - yeh the camera's not as good but at least the handset
doesn't have all the bugs the 850 has !!

Wish I hadn't upgraded to the k850 myself.

sure but youll hafta shed extra dough for that...

and thats not what quality products stand for... a product should be as good taken from its box. but when you have certain hiccups (well altho it is seen on some other brand/product) its quite annoying. and youll hafta spend sumthin out just to make it better when the fact is that the company should be taken the first steps in the first place.. get me?!

the safe way possible is to wait for the K850 to drop its price and for SE to release good firmware upgrades... i guess we'll all be happy campers then.

see yah!

I faced the same decsion and on Saturday I bought the K810i instead of the K850i.

I decided that the K850i was too likely to disappoint me with regard to build quality and firmware and therefore reliability and hassle of getting it changed and upgraded etc. And I have to say I'm really pleased with the K810i. It looks gorgeous, it's nice and fast and reliable. Still got the wretched SE audio hiss but I expected that. It's noticeably lighter than the K800i as well and the K800i and K850i are about the same weight.

Better still, because it's an older model I got the phone from a T-Mobile shop with a 1GB card for free on a Flext 20 (£15 / month) tariff).

K850 is full of bugs at the moment as sony ericsson seem to let the general public test the firmware for them.

Yes you can upgrade the firmware FREE via the usb lead & sony ericsson update service.

Problem is you have to WAIT for sony ericsson to release the new firmware first before you can update your phone.
