Installed the SE update service as downloaded yesterday (version 2.7.9.14-1) on my Vista home premium PC.
When I try to run the programm I get a message that my macromdeia version in not compatible and a prompt to
www.macromedia.com.
I have downloaded both flash and shockwave players, rebooted, uninstalled and then re-installed the update software but I still get the same message.
Any ideas anyone?

Hmmm.. I'm running Update Service on Vista and not facing any problems. It may not be Vista at issue here...

It's not a Vista problem. I have Vista and always worked perfect, but this happened on my old XP.
Concentrate on trying to uninstall the Flash, and clear the PC (I recommend CCleaner) and after that reinstalling Flash.

this is due the intro splash with the SE logo.
you could check the root directory of your SEUS/SEPS for the alternate exe (which does skip the logo)
believe it's called launcher.exe
