> P800 Memory Capacity with M2 Adapter?

Hi,
I have read that the P800 is only capable of 128MB max memory, however i also read this isn't due to firmware, but just MS Duo capacity, i was wondering if it would work if i put my M2 (MS Micro) 512MB into the adapter for MS pro into a MS Duo adapter, would it work?

The Memory Stick Duo and the Memory Stick Pro Duo are different, and since your P800 only supports the former, it will not be able to support the M2 even if you were to put it in an adapter so that it would fit. That's to the best of my knowledge and if anyone were to know otherwise, I'd be happy to be corrected. Cheers!

i remember having a similar dilemma before with my S700i... the phone was rated to only accept memory only up to 128mb... and besides, both S700i and P800 use the same "memory stick duo" technology (not memory stick PRO duo)... so i bet the 512mb wont be read properly with your p800.
as for an adaptor for M2... there are M2 adaptors that let you use your M2 in a PRO (large stick) or PRO duo (medium stick) devices. But this wont help your P800... since the underlying technology for M2 is similar to the Memory Stick PRO and PRO DUO...
to cut everything short... the M2 wont be compatible with your P800... even if you happen to have an adaptor at hand.

any suggestions on phones like it under the $250 AUD price mark secondhand.

The P800 was a fantastic phone, but it's a little old now... would you consider a P910 instead? It's basically the same phone, but with a few improvements (better screen, more internal memory) and slightly different looks, and it happens to support Pro Duo (or M2 with an adapter) up to at least 2GB.
It's a few years old too, so it should be cheapish second hand - only a little more than the P800.

when i was in france for the day a couple of weeks ago, they had a p910i for over 600 euros. what made me laugh was that there was a p1i sitting next to it and they only wanted about 550 euros for it

Blimey - they seem to be going for not much more than £50 on ebay! The P800's only £10-20 cheaper.
I can imagine that many people do consider it a better phone than the P1, but not so much that they'd pay silly money for such an old phone, surely?
