Temporarily you could file or cut the protruding piece away so it doesnt get caught on your clothes, I would try that, but beware of cutting through though.

I did exactly the same. Just se a cloth to pu it over the aluminium fascia and use a tool to bend it back in place. The aluminium is very soft but you can't bend it with your bare hands.I did just that.
