Depends on where that folder is. You see, by default, all your folders and files are automatically backed up in your personal folder. Just go to the previous versions tab in the Properties window of a folder/file.
It's called shadow copying. I think you can also set up automatic shadow copying for other folders, too. I forgot how, though. But you can.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you need Vista Business or Ultimate rather than home if you want more flexible backup options. Either way, I'm sure there'll be some shareware backup software out there that'll do what you're after. I can't recommend one in particular because I still do my backing up manually either using norton ghost or by just copying folders like you do. It's more reliable that way

The thing is im a lazy sod and i dnt always back up.. So i want something that will do it for me..

I dnt wanna pay 4backin up software and i dnt really wanna load anything 2do if i can do it wit windows.. I try 2use windows apps as much as i can so i dnt have 2load other stuff on my machine that windows can do, only if it really is a must..

Well unfortunately it looks like I might be right for a change!

If you look at this forum here it says in post number 4 that "The complete backup program is in Business and Ultimate".

So you're left with either doing an in-place upgrade to business or ultimate or buying a backup application I'm afraid

Or, buy something like a maxtor one touch external hard drive but of course that also involves installing third-party software.

Premium also does the back up but as i said i dont wanna do the full back up & im also a bit tyte with cash now (savin for my wedding) so an upgrade or other software is not an option ryt now.. Unless its free, but i managed2sort something out..

I did the full back up anyway..

Yeah but that's the difference, premium only lets you do the entire drive where as business and ultimate let you pick folders

Oh well, at least it's backed up one way or another now
