ive often heard tht ppl block their phones when it gets lost with their IMEI...is it possible? and does SE service center do it?

you have to call your phone operator and they will confirm that the IMEI has been used on their service before barring the phone

In the UK we have a service called Immobilise where you can register your phones IMEI number and report it lost or stolen if need be.

but this won't bar the phone, afaik, only the operator can do that

In swaziland you just need to prove that you own the phone and get a police confirmation letter then take it to the mobile operator. They wil then lock the phone from there

I can block phns on the MTN network in south africa, but im not allowed to tell any1 how cos i'll get ppl in trouble.. I did some troublesome things with this knowledge.. Hahaha!!
