Hello,
I just purchased a P990i and am having a little problem with it (apart from the general bugginess!).
Without the flip installed, message/call alerts etc. were working okay. But after installing (screwing in) the flip cover, I don't get alerts for SMS's anymore. There is no sound, no vibration, no small icon on the mail screen. I need to manually go to "Messaging" to see if there is a message. This happens in both Flip Closed and Flip Open mode.
I tried changing back to the default theme, changing the melody for SMS alert etc., but nothing is happening.
Is this a known problem?

I have the same problem with the P1 - it's a sw bug. I have to restart it and it's ok afterwards. But I think it has no connection to your flip...

OR you can search for Magic Message Manager for UIQ 3.0 which among other, has this option of reminding you of unread sms', emails and MMS' and you has a lot of options to how this process can be done.
