recently the number 8 key on my phone wont work at all, and i noticed when i press the camera buttonon the side of the phone it types 0 into the keypad, yet it still works for the camera :s
i replaced the pcb with no luck, and the phone is in pieces now but i cant think what it could be. possibly software?

Was the keypad PCB plugged in fully? I've come across errors like that when it's not been in properly, also when there's moisture damage on the phone's keypad connector on the mainboard.

Try cleaning both the keypad PCB's connector and the phone's PCB connector with a toothbrush or similar, just in case it's just a build up of dirt and crud that could be causing your problem. You could also try squirting the keypad connector on the mainboard with WD40, though be careful not to get any on the microphone as I've found from experience that WD40 can kill mics!
