Yeti Prints found near Everest
By Charles Haviland
BBC News, Kathmandu
There have been stories of Yetis in the Himalayas for many years
A US TV presenter says he and his team have found a series of footprints in the Everest region of Nepal resembling descriptions of the mysterious Yeti.
The presenter and his colleagues say they are "very excited", although they are not saying they definitely believe it is the mark of the Yeti.
Josh Gates and his crew work on a series called Destination Truth, which follows reports of fantastic creatures.
The footprints found on Wednesday have renewed Yeti excitement in Nepal.
Mr Gates said they had been searching by torchlight at night-time because, he said, alleged sightings of the yeti had usually taken place at night.
They did not see the so-called abominable snowman himself.

Hmm dunno if a believe about the yeti.
Would be really cool if it was real though. Will be something logical about the footprints

I think the yeti is one of those nutty conspiracy theories like nessy and the roswell crash.

It's actually a modern myth or legend, not a conspiracy theory. Unlike many others, it does have a small amount of sound scientific evidence behind it

whats scientific evidence like the footprints you mean?if so that doesn't account for much scientific evidence.there is much more proper evidence to validate other conspiracy's yet people dismiss those ones so i don't how the yet one can be validated in any way?

Plus why would the shepherds around the base of Everest lie about this, they have been reporting sightings for years and have nothing to gain by doing so.
I am just dying to see these prints though, I'm intrigued.

What makes you think it's a conspiracy? What does anybody stand to gain from the existence or non existence of a creature?
And I am not a conspiracy nut by the way, far from it. I have an interest in subjects such as this and I also have an open mind and a very healthy dose of skepticism!
The footprints do constitute scientific evidence, as do various hair samples that have been found over the years. All kinds of data can be derived from the depth, shape and topography of the prints which seem to match the idea of a large, ape-like mammal.
I'm not saying that the yeti exists, doesn't exist or is a long-standing practical joke, nobody can. I'm just presenting some of the facts...
