> unlocking an s500i

hi guys.
i have a vodafone contract but i just bought the purple ice s500i from o2 on pay as you go. just wondering if anyone knows any good websites to get the phone unlocked? i tried unlock experts and paid then £6 only to find out they cant give the code for the s500i, any suggestions?
oh and o2 wont give it to me until i've had the phone for 12 months

you can do a firmware patch unlock for €6 via kulankendi, as long as you dont update the firmware it'll remain unlocked

yes, but let it rather done by experts imo. just visit a mobile shop. its also possible to unlock it with setool for example

i phoned o2 and they said they dont give unlocking codes for pay as you go phones until you have had it for 12 months. his reasoning was that they sell the phones at a fraction of the cost and make up the difference when you top up your phone every month.

i see... well, then the other mentioend solution is the winner. just ask around in the city, which shop could make it for u. i wouldnt suggets the patchfile solution ( see above ) its cheap, but for no use...
