I have got the SE P1 and want to use the wi-fi.
I have connected to my home pc router but am not sure what to do when i have established the connection, how do i get on the internet and more importantly how do i know i am using my router for free(or any wi-fi connection for that matter) rather then using the phone operator which charges a fortune to surf?
When i have connected and try to open a web page i get the message 'Could Not Locate Server'

Many Thanks

go to your connection settings in your wifi account on your p990 and (internet accounts) select advanced and disable power save (off) rts threshold (256-2347) 2346

Ok have tried and yes the settings are there, i have changed power to (off) and set rts to (2346) it was set to 2347.

Tried again but still no joy.

Maybe i should start again from the beginning.

Is there a walkthrough of how to get the connection?
Do i have to set up a new account or just scan and find my router then press connect?

I have gone into my router settings and temporarily disabled the encryption key.
Now when i connect it says connected like before but this time i can browse the web, however the 'DefaultWIFIAccount' is showing the connection log as being connected is this right or am i not connecting to my router?

Im Confused

Because you have removed the passkey the router is now open, so your p1 can use the defaultwifi account to browse to it, so YES you are browsing through your router. If this is working then the problem lies in the other account somewhere.

Put your encryption back on, try WEP first (not best solution) then WPA and see what works - if you get WEP to work and not WPA then at least you can get some encryption, not much mind, but better than nothing.

Myself I have my home WLan setup with WEP, but connect to a work WLan using WPA. Both work fine, so you should be able to do - you've just gotta fiddle with the settings

So do i need to create an account or just scan for router, then press connect and enter passkey?

You should create an account, you'll be able to change the settings that way. If you connect and enter the passkey then i think the p1 creates an account with the same name as the router.
