Hi,
I have a brown P1i (developer's edition) and I have some trouble with it not displaying some of the non-US chars in e-mails. Before, on my m600i with GW firmware, everything worked ok (those chars would get substituted with similar ones). Now they just get left out, making emails very hard to read.
So I tried SEUS but of course no new FW available 'cos it is brown soft.
Currently I am downloading "P1_R6E30_R9H004_Generic_World1_CDA162022-1_R6E29.rar" which, if I understood right, should help me - but when I tried to make backup with XS++ it said "no way" 'coz it's brown. So I guess I have to convert it to red 1st. But how?

Please, any info would be greatly appreciated.

My current phone status:
Platform: DB2001
OTP CID: 49
EROM CID: 49
EROM Color: Brown
Phone smartphone version: R1D0
Phone software version: CXC162037 R9J005
Processing Unit: CXC162175 R4A03
Organizer: CXC162108 R6F41
CDA: CDA162024/92 R5A

Does your phone display accented characters if you type them in an edit box? If not, try installing new fonts. Maybe it will fix the e-mails.

Yes it does! I can type all the chars I need in any of applications. It's just the e-mails that don't display them - that is, INCOMING e-mails only.

Even if I write an e-mail in my P1i, using those accented chars, and send it to myself, it'll come without those chars.

Also... there are 5 of those chars (x2 because of upper/lowercase) and of those 5 only 3 don't get displayed in emails. Other two are there, and WITH accents.

Here are the chars in question: "ČčĆć" used to get displayed as "CcCc", which is OK. Then, "Đđ" used to be displayed as "Dd" but now doesn't get displayed at all. And finally, "ŽžŠš" get shown WITH accents (although "ZzSs" would be fine by me).
