Bookmark topic
Hi all, im having a nightmare with orange right now.... for various reasons.... one being that i finally got myself a brilliant contract unlimited texts and 3000 mins for £45...... the idea behind that is that i WILL NOT GO OVER MY MINS..... or texts (obviously).... but in factual fact im getting abotu £10 a month charges for 'dodgy' messgaes i am not askign for or replying too, or opening....
now please keep the funny jokes, witty comments to yourself... i need advise to get out as im sick to death of orange and theyre rubbish service!
also, my phone has broken..... i spoke to a customer sevice rep who was a utter plonker....... also im annoyed that the htc touch dual has now been released as its the same phone (with the keypad) as mine and i was infformed orange wont release it.....
Fatreg, im looked glary at you for this one matey....... if anyone has any advise or anything, please dont hesistate to PM me or reply here......
IM really hopeing theres a way out of this filks...... im my 4th month into a 18mointh contract..... there is also the option of dropping to the 'cheapest' tarrif (saelling the touch (when i get the brand new replacement) and paying them off......
any ideas?!?!?! pretty please

one option, but it'll cost .... convert to payandgo - you'll be charged for the
remaining line rental.

orange usually will repair your handset even if u dont have orangecare i think u have to subscribe tho and charge the £15 premium or just but a cheap handset then your problems are solved.
I have 9 month left on mine and tried to cancel via the change in terms but they wont let me, after 6 month they have something call best plan you will be-able to change to the one suited to your usage so if u dont use it i think you will beable to downgrade to the lowest one which is at £25pm which will make it cheaper if you paying off your contract.
what is wrong with your handset? if your receiving premium text ask them to change your number for you then it will stop, orange charge 1p per delivery report so turn them off

sell your handset and put that towards the cost of the contract, if you wait to month and use the best plan you might beable to downgrade to the £25pm tarriff but that still a hefty sum of cash.
im on the £19 student and sold my n95 for £200 so that partly covered my contract cost i just bought a cheap 6300 from cpw and still got my k800. i just gonna wait till the n82 comes out then pay off my contract and upgrade for me orange have been pretty good at replacing lost/broken handset but i always subscribe to orangecare

Hi there leeboy13, have you got delivery report set up on your phone?
I only ask because i'm also on Orange and having spoke to customer services a few months ago about a billing query myself was recommended to remove my 'delivery report' in the message settings on my phone as orange charge 0.9p for each 'SMS Delivery Receipt' message. Doesn't sound a lot?
If you send say 500txts a months you will be billed an extra £4.50 in delivery reports, 1000txts a extra £9 and so on.
Just seeing you query this extra £10 or so in 'dodgy' messages got me thinking thats all.
Check for yourself it shows up as 'SMS Delivery Receipt' - cost 0.009 on your itemised billing.
Hope this helps?

thats ok

thanks for the reply tho
to be honest, the thing is with orange, there is a clause in the contract that if they change prices? or any service you can cancel within one month.... thats gonna be too long gone now

also, if i find out they are charging me for deliveries i will just chuck my sim card away and go with someone else lol..... im almost certain they arent doing this...
for the record and example of the dodgy meesages being recieved, 'mindy wants to share her big balloons with you, text *~*~* to #*#*# to burst her balloons' .... get the picture? and i Haven't sign up[ nor done anything removetly dodgy regarding my phone or phone number...... why shoudl i pay this £10 a month (made up of 50p/£1/£1.50 charges....)?!?!?!?!?
its not fair.... nor shoudl i have to do the slogging to cancel them when i DIDNOT sign up....
im soooo annoyed right now

when i signed up there was a clause in the small print i think saying delivery reports willl be charged, think this was just over a year ago. the only reason i wanted to cancel is because i wanted a new handset, but i already cover the cost of my contract selling it, the 6300 i bought from cpw is good for a cheap phone, camera a bit pants but using the iphone theme i pretty decent and if i lose it or smash it up im not too bothered.
yeh premium text sux i manage to avoid them, have receive past ones but only for £1.50 got a refund via postal order but couldnt cash it because they didnt put my name on it, i decided to write it at a loss since it was only £1.50
where did u receive the premium text whats the short code? maybe contact the company who sent them and get a refund?
