Having eagerly awaited news of the N82's confirmed release & specs and then doing a quick search it seems at the moment only o2 have this phone down as '2008'.
Hoping the N82 would be available on Orange in anticipation of my upgrade due 1st quarter 2008 and checking their 'coming soon' page it doesn't look promising.
This got me looking at Orange's phone list in general and I was a little surprised at their lack of high-end phone offerings (all brands). A (very) quick breakdown of their current high-end /flagship/smartphones is as follows:
Nokia: N95 - (no sign of N81, N81 8GB, N95 8GB or N82)
SE : K850i & W910i - (no P1i & no sign of W950i)
Samsung : G800 - (no sign of F700 or Armani)
Motorola : V8 or K8 - (thats it! TWO phones!? with no Z8 & no sign of Z10)
I appreciate in the case of N95 8GB, thats locked onto Vodaphone until after xmas I believe & I haven't heard of any 'exclusivity deals' with any of the other phones being locked onto the other networks so i'll be very disappointed if any of these newer releases don't appear on Orange (especially N82!) because at the moment Orange's target market seems firmly biased the low-mid range sector & PAYG.

I heard on the news last night that a lot of big UK companies are tightning their belts for a 'credit crunch' early next year. Maybe orange are stalling a little so as not to order lots of expensive phones that they would have to subsidize on costly 18 month contracts which consumers may not want to sign up for if money does become less easy to get hold of as predicted.
Just a theory

It would makes sense plus it might also mean more 12 months contracts becoming available on the more expensive phones.
