The bluetooth signal range seems very short on my P1i.
With my old K700i using either a Samsung WEP-200, Sony Ericsson HBH-300 or Sony Ericsson HBH-IV835 bluetooth handsfree, I could move up to 10 meters from the phone without any degradation in sound quality.
With my P1i using the same handsfree, I can't even move 1m from the handsfree before the sound quality starts degrading and the signal "cracks up".
I can't even move the phone to the opposite side of my body (i.e. having the phone in my left breast pocket and the handsfree in my right ear) because then the sound is so bad that either I or the other party starts having problem hearing whats being said.
If I have the handsfree in my right ear and hold the phone in my left hand while stretching my arm as far as possible, I can't even hear the other party any longer.
I've randomly tested theese handsfrees with other phones (M600i for instance) and my P1i is the only one having problems.
Is there any known problem with the bluetooth signal strength on the P1i or is it just my phone that is having a problem?

That is not normal. My BT headset works great at 8/10 meters distance.

Also check if the BT power saving option changes anything.

Maybe it's interference? I hear that wi-fi and BT interfere with each other.

Disabling power saving and WiFi have no effect at all on this phenomenon

Im not sure if my experience helps, but I am using hbh ds220's and they work great, except for when im using wifi, which results in skipping.

I once tested a headset from a P1i box. I never had this option when i bought mine but some in markets, the P1i comes bundled with a Navi BT GPS antenna and a headset, GV435a. It sucks. The other party couldn't hear me almost at all, while my sound was crackly and distorted. I guess it was nothing wrong with the headset, some just have bad quality, that's all. You can check it in a service if you want.....
