I was trying to view skysports.com on my P1 but it said i needed to get the 'Adobe flash player to view this content', so it redirected me to there site but when i clicked on Download i got a message saying 'We are unable to l,ocate a Web player that matches your platform and browser'

It then said 'Please visit our table of recommended Web Players' so i clicked on that and was shown a list of Web Players.

First it said please upgrade to the latest version of your browser.
(how do i do that?)
Then download the current Web player

What one do i download?

Many Thanks

You're out of luck, I'm afraid. The p1 has opera 8.65, and there's no flash- support through third- party (yet, anyway). And it's.. very unlikely there will be a p1 firmware that has integrated support for full flash implementation - even if there might eventually be some workaround for for example tv streams and embedded video, etc. (Like on the nokia n-series).

What the p1 does support (sort of..) is realmedia streams. And you can stream mp3s (not too bad) through for example coreplayer (...hopefully that will be improved in the next milestone, and video- streaming will be less painful as well).
