My car got broke in to last night and i had around a thousand pound worth or sat nav and sound system nicked. Neway the alarm did not go off although it was showing as being on (was still showing as being on in the morning) neway the car is still under warrenty with ford, i was wondering is there any chance i can claim the cost of the stuff which was taken from ford as the alarm did not work? My insurance cover doesnt come close to covering the full amount and i only got it fitted on friday and hadnt got extra cover added to the insurance yet,

What you recon to claiming from ford?

Thanks

I reckon you might havew to learn a well hard lesson matey

I don't think you've got a hope in hell of claiming off Ford but it's worth a go I guess...

dont think you have a chance i assume their lawyers at ford are the best of the best would cost thousands in legal fees and you might lose, how much do you think you lost after insurance?

my nationwide credit card has that facility for free best look at the bank website it got the terms and conditions, but with nationwide you have to register the goods with them

if the alarm didn't go off, i assume they must of been professionals who know how to disable the alarm from sounding

yes, it looked to have been professionally done, didnt really trash the car, the sat nav flip out screens are really hard to get out once there in and they left no mess, they knew exactly where the hide away box was and managed to get a 12" sum and amp from the boot through the front passenger window.

I only had it all fitted at a pioneer FRANCHISE on friday so were wondering whether they could of disabled the alarm then and giving my details to someone to get it back. No doubt if it was someone from the place who fitted it it will be the person who fitted it so he can have a reason for his finger prints being there.

They left a coat and towel which has been taken for forensics and they have taken finger prints from the car. Hopefully will catch the theiving T**TS

assuming they left that they are more than likely to have left DNA, however i very much doubt they will analysis the DNA unless it was a murder or there was lots of similar cases in the area, can they not trace the gps as it should have a unique code, i think the car companies sometime can find your location via gps depending on the gps unit.

To me it sounds like the guys who installed the kit were in someway involved. To know what you had and how it was installed sounds a bit suspicious to me.
