With se leading the way in standardizing bluetooth in thier phones way before the rest, i'm surprised that its taking so long for them to release a gps phone.

I think power consumption and cost would have something to do with it. SE is careful about including features in a device that would compromise battery life or increase cost.

I see it becoming standard eventually.

No shying away from it, gps phones particularly the high end phones is the way to go for SE if they must compete with the rest. I am very sure we shall see more, come 2008.

GPS on SE phones? yes!
But becoming a standard in a SE phone? I don't think so.
Just like chuksy said, it will only available on High-end phones.
But who need GPS if you can use
Google virtual GPS

I DONT WANT SOME POWER EATING GPS IN MY CELL PHONE...why ???? it use way to much power,(it drain the battery much faster...you need a BIG battery to get good talktime)..

its crappy against a real gps..(sure, it seems that N82 a-gps is quite fast, but you cant still use it inside big buildings, and it have bad battery time)

remember, one of major features have allways been good battery time..

if i want a gps, i buy a real one....works ten times better.

ps..you have gps-puck if you need gps to example k850...they work good i think.

I'm not agree with you here...

If you just activate the gps when u need it, whats the problem with the battery ???

How many times do u need to use a gps inside buildings ??

"if i want a gps, i buy a real one....works ten times better. "
Thats just to say: -If I want a digital camera, I buy a SLR ...works ten times better...

Of course, if u buy one unit for every purpose you will end up with the top of tle line gadgets, the mobile do not do a perfect job at anything when speaking of diferent features, it is just OK at many things !

A gps in the phone is a great feature !!!

GPS chips will become smaller, more efficient and cheaper to produce over time, just as more mobile devices are appearing with larger screens.

I can only see them becoming more commonplace.

Hi SCORPIONKING1982!

There is software for the TyTn II that does this kind of thing. There is a thread over at XDA-Developers and the homepage is here

Looks good!
