I am using P990 for the last 8 months. While using this i find that we the user of UIQ3 have the least application support then other smartphone OS has. Like when i saw Nokia set they have huge collection of apps in there S60 devices and the number is increasing so on. But on the other hand UIQ3 apps are growing very slowly. Whats about Windows Mobile 6 3rd party application support? Are there number is more the S60 or less? how usefull are they?
We can here discuss about the number of apps of these the 3 leading OS of smartphone and why there number differs. Which has most apps support? As per i know S60 is the most popular OS in smartphone world according to sold no of units. SO there apps support should me most. Am i right or wrong?

I switched to WM recently, and there is a vast amount of good software out there for it - quite a lot of good freeware too.
UIQ was doing okay until the move to UIQ3 - that really killed the developer support, since none of the older software was compatible in any way (even aside from the signing issue, the screen orientation changed as well). WM, in comparison, has had a smooth ride - much of the software I've tried probably started life on early versions of Pocket PC way back when, and have needed only small tweaks (if any) to remain compatible with the very latest phones and devices.

@shuvo13
Well to my surprise just yesterday i was amazed to find there are actually over 8,000 apps available for Symbian devices. As to how useful they are well that has to be down to each user as what may be good for one may not be for another but surely having the largest possible choice must increase the chance that there will be what you are looking for.

just be a little patient. StyleTap makes software for WM that allows you to run Palm apps on WM devices. they are currently developing a platform that will allow you to run Palm apps on UIQ3. fyi, Palm has the most number of apps of all platforms, at over 20,000.
you can read their press release here:

And UIQ 3 with it's TS was more optimized to run Palm apps more efficient than the current S60 platform(3.1 & 3.2) but anyway both the two platforms have their own upcoming TS-based platforms and it is expected that both upcoming Platforms could run palm apps more efficient than the original OS itself

I am not holding my breath for x-platform emulation software. Wm devices barely have enough 'Horse power' to run their own applications. Imagine a already sluggish P1 running a program which emulates WM6 and then running a hi-end wm application. Let's see how this jocke turnes out - Even emulating s60 on a p1 will be a 'nightmare'. If you want to run wm software BUY a wm device
