Hey everyone,
I've seen here a lot of posts regarding problems with the bluetooth connection to their T68i. File transfer problems, modem problems, etc.
BT is a very new technology, so patched and new software is MUCH better than old. What you should do:
Get all the newest drivers and what not from
www.sonyericsson.com (NOTE: not all drivers are displayed in every country... the UK division has a nice collection for the T68i, but Poland has nothing).
Then make sure you have the newest software for your BT dongle or whatever. If you can, do not install anything that came with your hardware at all.. get the new versions! :)
I got a T68i, and ran to the computer shop to get a BT dongle. Plugged it in, installed the CD, and it had very limited functionality and what did work was spotty. The manufacturer didn't even include a web page to get patches. Some docs pointed to the fact that the dongle used an OEM BT chip by Windigo. Find this out.. Windigo is pretty popular, and you have to go to their website and EMAIL them to get the updated XTND Connect software from them. As of this posting, the newest version of XTND Connect is 2.0a. It works like a charm. I turn on BT on my phone, and my Dell WinXP laptop instantly knows what's going on. I will not provide the link, since they password protect it, and may have some interest in control over it.
To install the modem:
Once you install all the cool software and you see that your phone is detected, run the New Hardware Wizard and it will find your phone as a modem on some COM port (mine is on COM6). If you can, use the list of available devices to pick your Sony Ericsson T68 Bluetooth Modem (by default it may just be a regular modem) as the device you wish to connect. In my case it downloaded all the settings for the connection to my PC after I did that. Try the Ericsson wizard to do this, if you like.
*The last paragraph is not an exact howto, since my procedure for the set up included A LOT of guess and check work, and so some things I did I may not even know of :)
