The Driver and Vehicle Agency in Northern Ireland has lost 6000 driver details while sending them to the DVLA in swansea on 2 CDs..

As a pure cynic I have to ask, why are they using CDs and what type of postal service are they using? If the info is that important, why doesn't a person take the info over? cost might be an issue, but it's better than the embarrassment surely?

Names, address and reg numbers have been lost....which to me is a massive mistake, you could end up with loads of ringed cars and cars used in crimes...

good job Driver and Vehicle Agency in Northern Ireland!!

Perhaps we should pay our taxes to monkeys and get them to run the country, because the people who "run" it now seem to have less intelligence than a fecking hamster!

Absolutely. People moan about electronic transfers being unsafe but if these details were beamed overnight via a secure connection, none of this would have happened.

I just can't believe that they are still using CDRWs. They're the most unreliable and unsafe medium out there!

My sister got a letter out the other day from the inland revenue telling her that her details were lost on one of those discs!

All the old codgers like me, were FORCED to get paid via electronic bank transfer, because it was safer than carrying a pension book .
All pensioners and benefit claiments were forced on to that too, THEN the government moans about the Post office not having enough customers, whose faults that then!!
